(Chelsea Update would like to thank Michelle Tuplin for the information in this story.)
On Tuesday, April 25 from 1 – 3 p.m., there is a read-in at Serendipity Books in celebration of the right to read.
This is in support of a Michigan Library Association state-wide initiative.
The MLA is encouraging readers to either sit on the steps of the State Capitol in Lansing for the read-in – or to join in from their community.
Bookstore owner Michelle Tuplin is making the store available and asking people to come to the store between 1 and 3 p.m. on Tuesday, to bring their book, grab a chair, and settle in to read quietly for a while.
We’ll have some community faces, as well as folks from our own library reading.
We’ll be providing tea and cookies and reading right along, too.
