April 28: Chelsea Farmers Market spring fundraiser

File photo of the Chelsea Farmers Market.

Everyone is invited to celebrate spring and the Chelsea Farmers Markets on Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to noon for a fundraiser brunch prepared by Bruce Reeve of Tunk’s Kitchen at Chelsea First United Methodist Church, 128 Park St.

Reeve has worked to create a menu using the most local and fresh ingredients possible – most of which will be donated by the markets’ vendors.

MENU:

  • Eggs in a Baguette
  • Roasted Balsalmic Root Medley
  • Sage Pan Seared Pork
  • Chicken Florentine
  • Savory Herbed Bean Succotash
  • Micro Greens with Honey and Bacon Vinagrette
  • Sweet Breads

(This menu is subject to change as the event nears and we evaluate what is available for this seasonal feast.)

The cost is $20. All profits will go toward funding the markets’ food education and food demonstrations at both Saturday and Wednesday markets this season.

To avoid any extra fees you can also fill out a form to reserve and pay for your spot. Visit www.chelseafarmersmkt.org or email [email protected] to get the form.

The framers markets take place on Saturdays from May – October from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the municipal parking lot adjacent to the library on Park Street and on Wednesdays from May – October, 2-6 p.m., in the Chelsea State Bank parking lot on the corner of M-52 and Old US-12.
