Local children were treated to a race car-themed program at the Chelsea District Library last week.
Local residents Bill Eversole, car owner and Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) Rookie of the Year in 2003, and his wife, Trenda, who works as a pit crew member, talked to the children about stock car racing and answered their questions.
They parked one of their race cars on the library front lawn last Wednesday.
The couple also brought a gas can and other racing items for the children to see and helped them to sit inside car. The children had to climb through the window because the car doors do not open.
The former driver and his wife were the special guests of the library’s 6–11 Club.
