There are only two more weeks of the Saturday Farmers’ Market in the library parking lot on Park Street, which runs from 8 a.m. to noon, so this is one of your last chances to stock up on fall vegetables and other goodies available at the market.
Here are some of the Saturday highlights:
Frog Hollar will have red and green bell peppers, cabbage and a variety of apples.
At Ruhlig’s Produce, Danielle has made more fall decorations such as straw bales, mini straw bales for small displays, pumpkins and more. As for eats, they’ll have kale, lettuce, mixed greens, spinach, and Brussels sprouts.
Johnny Secreto debuts its holiday boxes, featuring a “Michigan cutting board” made with recycled Michigan hardwoods. There will be a limited amount on Saturday, so bundle up and come early.
Tom from Papa Tom’s Cajun Boiled Peanuts says, “Try the newest healthy snack food fad. Get some for the games or just for a great fall snack. You don’t have to eat them right away, they are simple to reheat and last 7 days in the frig. Come by for a free sample.”
Bev’s Crafts & More will have fresh homemade pies and cinnamon rolls hot from the oven. Winter is coming so stock up on her wonderful skin cream made with organic Shea & Coconut oil “Skin to Silk” New soaps: Lavender Oatmeal, Cedar Wood.
Chandra June brings tons of beautiful pretties, great for gifts!
Beef returns to Back Forty Acres. There will be steaks, roasts, ground. Get it while the gettin’s good and remember to order Thanksgiving turkey. Pasture-raised makes for a fresh, great-tasting bird.
Carol’s great jams at Myer’s Berry Farm. Season-end specials make great gifts. And Jim’s shop-built bird feeders will be there, too. 
Angie Godek & Sis return with their crocheted and knitted items.
La Baguette comes with its French flair. Baguettes, brioche and madeleines.
In community food news, be sure to read “In Defense of Food” by Michael Pollan. See Kathy at the Bridge Card booth to get a free copy of the 5 Healthy Towns Community Read book. Once you read it, sign it and pass it on to a neighbor or return it to the market.
Visit the Bridge Card booth in the corner of the market by the library. Present your Bridge Card and Kathy will assist you to receive tokens to purchase food products at participating vendors.
