The Righteous Mind: Why Good People are Divided by Politics and Religion by Jonathan Haidt explores where our morality might come from, why we think our arguments and beliefs are so different from others and why we find it so hard to get along.
To help us ease these social divides, One World One Family has organized a Community Read of Haidt’s book. The book is divided into three parts and the discussion of the first part will be Thursday, Aug.15 on Zoom from 7 to 8:30 pm.

Copies of the book are available at Serendipity Books, the Chelsea District Library and OWOF has a few to lend. Contact OWOF at owofchelsea@gmail.com.
Discussions of parts 2 and 3 will be Sept. 15 and Oct. 15, at the same zoom link.
Since 2012, Haidt has referred to himself as a political centrist. He is involved with several efforts to help bridge the political divide and reduce political polarization in the United States. He is currently the Thomas Cooley Professor of Ethical Leadership, based in the Business and Society Program at the New York University Stern School of Business.
