The August harvest begins this Wednesday at the Chelsea Farmers Market.

The market is located at the Chelsea State Bank parking lot, at 1010 S. Main St., near the corner of Old US-12 and M-52, between the hours of 1-5 p.m.

Stock up on a variety of fresh produce. Wade Pregitzer from the Munith area is back at the market and will have peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, beans, cucumbers, onions, kale, and corn this month. He’s been selling at the Chelsea markets for more than 13 years and says it’s the friendly people that keep him coming back.

Other vendors will be selling lots more vegetables as well as cantaloupe, blueberries, and peaches too.

Plants and flowers will be available along with baked goods and freshly made kettle corn.

Enjoy live music at the Wednesday market this week from Dorkestra.

There is a new regional (Chelsea, Grass Lake, Manchester and Stockbridge) food assistance program to help get healthy market food on the tables of those in need. It’s aimed at folks who don’t quite meet SNAP criteria. Be sure to inquire at the market.
