Beach Middle School Cross Country Team Starts Season Strong at Huron Invite

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Loren Thorburn for the information in this story.)

The Beach Middle School cross country team had a great first showing Saturday at the Huron Invitational in New Boston.

The girls varsity team took ninth out of 21 teams, the boys varsity team took second out of 21 teams and the boys reserve took second out of seven teams.

The girls varsity team was led by Sam Bieber who came in 6th with a time of 13:02. Zora Ziolkowski also earned a medal for her 24th place finish and the rest of the girls ran strong and set a great standard for the season.

Beckett Boos led the boys varsity team with an 8th place finish and a time of 11:42. He was followed closely by Linus Helzerman who finished 10th. Medals were also earned by Wyeth Angus, AJ Smith and Alex Martin.

In the reserve race, Sam Clifton had an outstanding run to come in 10th. Every boy on the team put in a solid effort and the hard work they’ve put in is definitely showing in their performances.

The coaches are excited for a great season of Bulldogs cross country.
