Beach Middle School football results from this week

Here’s a wrap-up of this week’s Beach Middle School football results.

The 7th grade blue football lost to Monroe, 46 to 0. Bulldog highlights were: On kick return, Corbyn Munson and Gus Reynolds each made some nice returns.  Ben Brown was the leading rusher, while Blake Engler, Evan Kucera, and Adam Edwards made some key blocks to help rushers make some big gains. Patrick Bertoni made a nice catch from Tom Steele for positive yardage.  Sam Yax and Jeret Hirst made some key tackles on defense.

The 7th grade gold football team played a tough second half, but fell to Monroe, 24-8.  Cross Lucas had a touchdown pass to Braden Steele followed by a 2-point conversion by Aiden Chisolm-Blockton.  He also ripped off a 45-yard TD that was called back.  Blocking by Logan Mahalak, Parker Doan, Collin Pustay and James Mida was excellent. Defensively Steele and Mason Trinkle both had interceptions, while Braden also had a fumble recovery.  Mida was all over the field making tackles.

The 8th grade blue football team lost to Monroe, 39-12. Ryan Mitchell scored two touchdowns on passes from Matt McDaniels. The offensive line blocked well. Defensively Cole Septer and Joey Wise lead the way for the Bulldogs.

The 8th Grade gold football had a heart breaking loss in the final 18 seconds to Monroe, 24-22.  Offensive captains were Austin Boatright and Miles Butler; defensive captains were Nick Whitesall and Clayton Woody. Woody also had nine tackles. Chris Roush caught a pass for 50 yards and caught a pair of 2-point conversions. Drew Anstead threw two touchdown passes. Cameron Cooper had two touchdowns and Jacob Jacobusse had one. Jordan Smith had one interception at the 3-yard line. Miles Butler and Kyle Bell each had one fumble recovery. Micheal Barnes had 10 tackles, Cal Barrett played outstanding D.
