The Beach Middle School 8th grade football team hosted Tecumseh for an SEC White division showdown. The dogs lost 40-7 but had some nice performances. Highlights include:
- The lone score for the evening came from a pass by Sam Kneffel to Jake Weinberg for a touchdown. Jake had several catches during the game and Sam ran the ball effectively at QB. Cam Cybart and Landon Scripter also had great runs on offense.
- Defensively, Noah Lesser, Easton Fahlstrom, Carter Smith, and Ryan Brown turned in great performances.
- Matheus Adam-Rita completed an extra point kick that baffled everyone at the game. After the snap was not secured, Matheus blocked the ball with his leg, kicked the ball directly off the turf, and made the extra point. The kick was originally called no good, but after review and a discussion with the officials, the kick was declared good. We’ve never seen a kick like that before.
The dogs will travel next week to Adrian to take on the Maples.
