The Beach Middle School 7th grade football team took on a physical Jackson team on Tuesday, Sept. 24 and lost 50 – 16 but showed lots of improvement from last week in many areas.
Highlights include:
- Jackson Blaker scored both touchdowns in the game, one on a kick return for a TD and one on a long run for 40 yards. Jackson also dominated on the defensive line.
- Brax Pratto had a key interception on defense when Jackson was in the red zone.
- Owen Sponsler made a big play on the punt team and recovered a muffed punt for a turnover.
- Drew Sheets, August Coon, Bryce Evans, and Opal Peroni played well at quarterback and showed a lot of poise and improvement.
- Bo Wacker played a great game at inside linebacker and had a great hit.
- Logan Dawson, Tanner Jones, Ivan Anderson, Kellen Brandt, and Wyatt Holzhausen provided great blocking up front on the offensive line.
The dogs will travel next week to Dexter for its next game.
The Beach Middle School 8th grade football team traveled to Jackson on Tuesday, Sept. 24 and lost 38-8, but had glimpses of excellence during the game.
Highlights include:
- Easton Fahlstrom led the team on defense in tackles and big hits. Kellen Howard and Kain Taylor also made excellent plays on defense.
- On offense, Cam Cybart led the Bulldog rushing attack. The guard play of Stevie Dosh and Noah Lesser was impressive during the game as well.
- Matheus Adam-Rita provided excellent kicking with a kickoff that landed in the endzone for a touchback.
The dogs will travel next week to Dexter for a big rivalry match up.
