Beach Middle School Gold Volleyball Plays Hard But Loses to Dexter

Chelsea Gold Volleyball was evenly matched with Dexter Gold last night as all 3 sets were close.

Chelsea won the first 25-17, then lost the match in the next sets 20-25 and 22-25. Both teams battled with strong serving.

Leading Chelsea servers were Kiley Ellis with 9 points in a row, Julianne Sounart with 8 in a row, and Nora Grabarkiewicz with 6 in a row.

Highlights included two hits by Marie Maynard, an awesome dig by Lucy Martindale on a hard hit and a perfectly timed block by Julianne.

The team takes on Lincoln at home next Monday.

7th grade Gold Volleyball had three close sets against Dexter.

Chelsea won the first 25-18, then lost the match in the next sets 23-25 and 20-25. Lead severs were Lilly Nielsen and Giana Barney with multiple ACE serves for both players.

Highlights included a hit by Ava Skrypec and a back row hit and dump set by Gianna Barney; many digs by Ella Gietzen, Mary Heiss, and Sophia Stanavich; nice front row coverage by Clair Vaquera and Kate Morris.
