The Beach Middle School Boys and Girls track teams started their seasons with a meet at Lincoln last week.
The boys lost 86-37 and the girls tied 64-64.
First place finishers for the boys team were James Mida in the 55-meter hurdles, Josh Kowalski in the 1600-meter run, Reese Smith in the 400 meter run and the high jump, and Michael Tarasow in the pole vault.
First place finishers for the girls were Caroline Hirth in the 3200 meter run, Jaqueline Taylor in the 800 meter run, Sydnee Liedelin the 1600 meter run, Jenna Gileczek in the 100-meter dash and pole vault, Sydney Matusik in the 400-meter run, the 3200-meter relay team of Hirth, Liedelin, Taylor and Alison Hughes, Kaehla Manly in the 200-meter dash, and Helena Schultz in the long jump.
