(Chelsea Update would like to thank Laura Ouellette and Pennie Ward for the information in this story.)

The Beach Middle School 7th grade volleyball team lost on the road against the Saline Hornets after attacking strong during the first set.

Chelsea had a strong serving squad the first set winning 25-17. Kaydee Absher led the team with 7 points for the match and Bella Radomski had consistency with 5 points. Taya Hall had good passing in the second set and set up the nice pass and set-hit combo for Ava Reyes and Avery Olvasen. Lily McCalla also had a good dig.

Saline won second set 25-8. The Dawgs lost the third set 25-6 when they failed to return passes from the strong Saline servers. Mia Kuboushek, Sasha Henrikson, and Brooklyn Angel came together for a combo that brought success.

The Beach Middle School 8th grade volleyball team lost to Saline 25-16, 25-15, 25-11.

Some strong plays were made by setters Maddie McKale, Ellie Kuck, Emily White and Alaina James getting the ball out to their hitters Avery Lay, Maggie McKale, Elleri Maute and Lily Hanson proved positive to put points on the board with kills.

As a team, the girls are struggling with serve receive, which is one of the top skills in volleyball to learn to master. Coach Pennie Ward says the girls will get there.
