Beach Middle School volleyball results from Wednesday

Here are the results from the Beach Middle School volleyball games on Wednesday, Oct. 17.

The 7th grade blue volleyball team played tough but lost all 3 games at Bedford last night, 21-25, 14-25 and 17-25. Zoe Steigerwald led with 7 points followed by Emily Griggs with 5 and Alise Hale with 4. In addition, Kara Nold had some great defensive plays.

The 7th grade gold volleyball team lost their match to Monroe. The girls played their best match of the season; they won the first game, then lost the second. In the final game, they lost 22-25. Even in the loss, the girls played very well. Annie Nichol had a 4-point serving run with one ace, Paige Stacy had a 4-point serving run with 3 aces, and Kendall Tucker over-hand served 3 points.

The 8th Grade blue volleyball team lost to Bedford last night. Jackie Busch and Nicole Bareis had great saves out of the net and Catherine Wellman had a block at the net. Skylar Kerr had good digs from the back row. Sidney Bailey served 4 points in the last game and Selena Shanley had 2 points.  The team’s last game is at home on Monday.

The 8th grade gold volleyball played one of its best set of 3 games this season against Monroe.  The team won the first game and played hard the second game, and almost pulled out the win for the third. It was evident that everyone was working hard. Anna Knight had 4 aces, Sara Stribe had 3 aces, Kourtney Long had 2 aces for the night. Gwen Lansky played her best game at the net. The team should be proud of the improvements they have made throughout the season. They travel to Dexter on Monday for the last game of the season.
