Beach Middle School volleyball teams finish season

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Laura Ouellette and Pennie Ward for the information in this story.)

7th grade

The Beach Middle School 7th grade volleyball team ended its season with a loss to  Jackson Parkside, dropping the first two sets 21-25 and 16-25 before winning the final set 25-15.

Top servers in the match were Ella Root with 11 serves over and Allie Singer with 7 serves over. Lexi Cummer and Rebecca Miller also had good serves over.

The team set up a couple pass-set-hit combos that included the following players: Ella Root, Brooklyn Angel, Sasha Henriksen, and Bella Radomski.

This concludes the 7th grade volleyball season.

Coach Laura Ouellette said she is proud of these student-athletes and how they developed throughout the weeks. “They worked hard at every practice, kept a positive attitude, had fun while learning, plus supported each other on the court during matches.”

She wishes them the best of luck when they continue their volleyball futures.

8th grade

The Beach Middle School 8th grade volleyball team finished its season with a victory, taking all 3 sets 25-23, 26-24, 25-23 from Jackson Parkside.

The team rallied to pull ahead in three very close games.

“I have enjoyed coaching these girls,” said coach Pennie Ward. “I have seen so much growth in all the players – from not being able to serve overhand to having kills at the net.”

She said she is looking forward to watching these athletes grow and mature as volleyball players as they move through their high school years.
