Beach Middle School wrestling logs 2 team wins; 12 placements at tough Holt tournament

The Beach Middle School wrestling team had a big week, winning two dual matches while 12 wrestlers placed in the tough Holt Tournament.

The dogs beat Jackson 81-27 on Tuesday Feb. 11. It was a great team win with many young wrestlers stepping up, said coach David Slusser.

Massimo Cugliari, Nathan Doyle, Auden Howard, Kanon Kajander, Kameron Mahoney, Evan Muchler, Victor Radu, Thomas Shemwell ,Colin Taliford, Griffen Tokarski, Sam Woodard, Alex Detterman, Indiana Hurst, Chase Nichols, Ethan Povlich, and Tanner Trinkle all won matches.

The dogs then traveled to Tecumseh on Thursday, Feb. 13 for a heated conference rivalry match.

The Bulldogs came home with a close victory 47-46. Winning matches that night were: Nathan Doyle, Kameron Mahoney, Evan Muchler, Lucas Racine, Victor Radu, Colin Taliford, Indiana Hurst, Chase Nichols, and Aiden Powell.

On Saturday, Feb. 15, the dogs traveled to Holt for one of the toughest individual tournaments in the area.

The following wrestlers placed at the meet:

1st Place: Griffen Tokarski, Massimo Cugliari, Colin Taliford

2nd Place: Ethan Povlich

3rd Place: Evan Muchler, Kameron Mahoney, Lucas Racine, Victor Radu, Chase Nichols

4th Place: David Eder, Trevor Lantis, Owen Van Assche
