Beach Middle School’s Hands-on Science class recently attended the Inaugural 2019 MISTEM Region 2 Invitational at Michigan International Speedway.

Beach students made an impressive showing with podium finishes in all six races, including multiple first and second place finishes.

Two waves of three races included: 3 minutes to drive the fastest lap, 5 minutes to drive the most laps, and a 15 minute endurance race that required one pit stop at a minimum.

Evan Muchler was such a standout driver that Ten80 selected him to drive with a GoPro camera for their promotional video. Most importantly, all students were engaged from start to finish. Comments were made about the trip being the best field trip they’ve ever attended. The students loved the intensity of the race environment.
