Brightman hired as executive director of UMRC Heritage Foundation

Wendy Brightman has been hired as the executive director of the United Methodist Retirement Communities’ charitable arm — the UMRC Heritage Foundation.

The foundation raises funds to support the benevolent care program for residents in need of financial assistance to remain in their UMRC home and to support additional operating needs of UMRC, according to information from the non-profit company.

Brightman of Saline, has more than 12 years of fundraising and leadership experience, and most recently, she served as managing director of Ele’s Place in Ann Arbor.

Her previous experience focused on healthcare, social service and education development roles in Michigan and Ohio.

Building on a foundation of more than 100 years of service, UMRC is a faith-based, non-profit organization that promotes the wellness, dignity and independence of older adults, by providing high quality, innovative and compassionate senior residential care services across Southeast Michigan.
