The Chelsea Center for the Arts has begun a strategic planning process to help determine its direction to best serve the community into the next 3 to 5 years.
CCA provides music and visual art instruction and related programming for children, youths, teens, adults and seniors.
As part of the process, CCA hosted a series of focus groups asking participants to provide ideas about the organization and possibilities for its future.
This information and an analysis of internal strategic factors, strengths and weaknesses will be considered.
“This is the perfect time to consider where we are, and how we might better serve the community with art and music programs in the future,” said CCA Board President Anne Williams.
“Gathering feedback from those with varying perspectives is invaluable to our process,” she said in a press release.
The strategic planning process is being led by Williams, CEO for ExcellenceQuest, Inc., a consulting firm “leading performance excellence initiatives to increase effectiveness of organizations within the business, education and the nonprofit sectors,” according to the press release.
She has extensive experience with nonprofit organizations.
“Like other community art centers, the CCA is a great place for gaining top quality arts instruction, developing important life skills, enjoying exhibitions and performances, getting prepared for college and careers, and coming together with others to experience the energy and talents of artists in the community and beyond,” said CCA Executive Director Lisa Baylis Gonzalez.
“It is also part of what makes Chelsea attractive to residents and visitors,” she said, adding, “Although we have made significant strides in the past few years, to both stabilize and move the CCA forward with infrastructure upgrades and programming additions, we hope this planning process helps to take us to the next level in serving the community.”
The mission of the Chelsea Center for the Arts is to enrich the quality of community life through programs that foster the creation, understanding, and enjoyment of the arts.
