Chelsea Center for the Arts

Jazz ensemble for CCAChelsea Center for the Arts will start a jazz ensemble class for teens and adults from 7-8 p.m. on Mondays with Tim Haldeman directing CCA’s hottest performance ensemble, according to information from the center.

This popular group is for students interested in gaining more confidence with their jazz soloing, or for returning, life-long students who wish to grow in jazz.

All instruments and levels of musical ability are welcome to participate, and topics will include: applying scales, chords, and patterns to common jazz chord changes, learning to play jazz through transcription, common jazz repertoire, improving your swing feel and improvising on the blues. The most effective way to learn jazz is through consistent performance, and this ensemble performs regularly at community events.

Special guest directors and performers from CCA’s Jazz Faculty will periodically join the ensemble.
