Center for Michigan to hold education conversation at Silver Maples tonight

The Center for Michigan will hold community conversation about education at Silver Maples of Chelsea on Monday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m.

Since January 2012, the Center for Michigan has been traveling the state holding community conversations to gather and amplify the voices of Michigan citizens to ensure that policy discussions taking place in Lansing reflect the views of Michigan people, according to information about the event.

This year, the focus is on pre-K to 12 education in Michigan, and Amber Toth, outreach coordinator for the Center for Michigan, will moderate the event.

According to the event information, the center wants to know:

  • What’s working in the community?
  • What needs reform?
  • What ideas can you bring to the table?

The topics expected to be covered are teacher and school leader quality, ideas for improved learning, and family and community involvement.

The event is free and everyone is invited and it will be held in the Maples Room at Silver Maples of Chelsea, 100 Silver Maples Dr.
