For me, this event marks the official start of summer and I can’t wait for Saturday.

The Chelsea American Legion Post 31 will host its 45th Annual Chicken Broil on Saturday, July 4 beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing until the 500 chicken dinners are sold out.

Included in a take-out or eat-in dinner are a half chicken, baked beans, Cole slaw, a bag of chips and a roll and butter for $10.

Beverages and desserts (while they last) are an additional cost.

The proceeds from this fundraiser are used to assist veterans in the Chelsea community.

The event is organized by Squadron 31 of the Sons of the American Legion.

The Legion is at 1700 Ridge Road in Sylvan Township.
