Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce to donate hardware for more Main Street banners

The Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce plans to purchase and donate to the city new  hardware so banners can be hung from 36 additional light poles along Main Street.

This will mean that folks driving through Chelsea on M-52/Main Street will see continuity during their travels says chamber Executive Director Monica Monsma.

The gift to the city was announced at Monday’s Chelsea City Council meeting.

“This is a no-strings-attached gift to the city,” she says.

The hardware, and banners hung from them, will help to beautify and unify all of Main Street throughout Chelsea.

Monsma says it will allow flexibility and options when it comes to hanging banners, which are primarily used to announce upcoming events throughout Chelsea.

In addition, the chamber has purchased new banners, which are expected to be hung for the next 2-3 months. They were originally designed by Bridget Favre of D and B Strategic Marketing, Monsma says.

She expects the hardware, which will match what’s already found downtown on Main Street, to arrive next week.
