Children will have the chance to spray water from a fire hose and see the new junior firefighter training house. There will be demonstrations of hands-on vehicle extrication displays, fire safety information, and a chance to experience the smoke trailer at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m.

Face painting, an inflatable bounce house, balloons shapes, free food and donuts, apple cider, coffee, hot chocolate, popcorn, cookies and hot dogs will also be offered.

This is also a chance to meet members of the American Red Cross, Chelsea Police Department and Huron Valley Ambulance.

Plus, Dryer Vent Wizard will offer fire safety tips, demonstrations and a chance to win a gift certificate for dinner at Common Grill.

Headquartered in Michigan, the company is a nationwide franchise that specializes in dryer vent repair, replacement, alteration, cleaning and maintenance for residential and commercial clients.

According to company information, it’s estimated that poorly maintained or clogged dryer vents are the leading cause of appliance fires and cause 15,000 to 17,000 dryer fires every year.

The company will display examples of properly and improperly vented dryer lines along with providing information about warning signs, safety tips and available services.

Everyone who attends will be eligible to enter a prize drawing for a dinner for two, with a $75 gift card value, for Common Grill.

  1. Come early for a chance to meet Randolf Mantooth, who’s appearing in the current production at the Purple Rose. Mantooth starred in the hit television series Emergency! in 70’s. He has been very active in supporting firefighters and other emergency response teams ever since, and has received multiple awards and other recognition for his service and support. He’ll have to leave early to prepare for the matinee performance, so don’t delay coming!
