Chelsea Area Friends for Recreation offers remedies for winter doldrums

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Jim Randolph for the information in this story.)

In its latest edition, Merriam-Webster defines the term stir-crazy: distraught because of prolonged confinement.

We suspect that definition will be updated soon to include some reference to Covid-19 and its associated staying at home with little normal social contact.

Chelsea Area Friends for Recreation may have a remedy.

Every two weeks through mid-March, CAFR will encourage new family-oriented activities geared to address winter doldrums that are compounded by pandemic necessities.

This week, for example, on Facebook we asked for your favorite places to go sledding.Tell us and our Facebook followers, with an accompanying picture, and perhaps you’ll win a prize from a local business.

Over the next nine weeks tentative topics include building things from snow, international cooking, making snowflakes, and feeding the birds. Ideas for other topics? Let us know and perhaps we can extend the program.
