The Chelsea-Area Wellness Foundation (CWF) is pleased to introduce that Ruth VanBogelen, Ph.D. has been hired as CWF’s new coalition coordinator.

Ruth is a research scientist who has spent more than 35 years studying how living things respond to their environment.  She also has formal training in group dynamics and communications, skills she’s already utilized as a member of the Manchester Wellness Coalition and CWF’s Comprehensive Wellness Committee.

In addition, VanGogelen is a former board member for the Foundation.

“Ruth’s skill set in group dynamics and communication is a perfect fit for the coalition coordinator position,” said Amy Heydlauff, CWF executive director, in a press release.

“We’re excited for Ruth to join our staff.  As the Community Wellness Coalitions continue to build their capacity for creating and executing comprehensive wellness strategies, Ruth will help the coalitions realize their full potential.”

Recently, Ruth has been a hands-on volunteer and leader for the two school gardens and the new community garden in Manchester, as well as leading efforts to revitalize the Manchester Farmers’ Market.

She enjoys most outdoor activities including gardening, walking, hiking, camping, and canoeing.
