(Chelsea Update would like to thank Jordan Miller for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea boys soccer team took the field again on Tuesday night, Aug. 22 against league newcomers Pinckney.

The JV team started off the night with their first game of the season. They got off to a good start, leading 1-0 in the first half on a goal from sophomore Shane Nold. Pinckney equalized midway through the second half, resulting in a 1-1 tie.

The varsity team then took the field and from the first whistle they looked like a much more confident team, shaking off the first game nerves from last week. Although, they had several dangerous chances in the first half, they were unable to put one away.

In the second half, they continued to dominate possession up to the final whistle, but the game remained 0 to 0. Senior goal keeper Logan Mahalak and the defense got their first shut out of the season.

“Our goal is to be a better team than we were the last game, every time we step on the field. Although, we would have loved to get the win, I think we did that tonight,” said varsity coach Jordan Miller.
