Chelsea Boys Track Brings Home Medals from Invites

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Eric Swager for the information in this story.)

Chelsea boys track and field had a couple “nice weather” meets this weekend – no team scores, no pressure, just fun.

“We took advantage by recording a slew of lifetime bests and earning a bevy of medals,” said coach Eric Swager.

Just a few highlights:

Ryan Scott threw a bomb in the shot put on Saturday. His 47 ft+ heave was a giant improvement and really opened some eyes.

Will Barhite continues to improve, lowering his 110 and 300 hurdle time substantially – making him one of the best hurdlers in the region.

The distance runners get faster across the board. “I am really impressed with the JV types – focusing and improving so much” said Swager, adding, “The attitude remains so positive with this squad.”

The team now shoots for the SEC Championships Friday night at Lincoln, followed the next week with the Regional Championship in Milan.
