Chelsea Center for the Arts seeking board members

The Chelsea Center for the Arts is seeking new board members to begin their terms in January, 2013.

CCA is seeking people who are “passionate about the future of the arts in our area, and who believe strongly in the CCA’s mission to enrich the quality of community life through programs that foster the creation, understanding and enjoyment of the arts,” according to information from the group.

It is a 501(c)(3) organization, which provides visual art and music programming for children through seniors, with lessons, classes, workshops, exhibitions, performances, and other unique arts experiences and special events.

“As a key arts organization in the county, the CCA serves the Chelsea area with meaningful and enriching music and visual art education and experiences,” according to information from the group.

Board members serve three-year terms, and are responsible for “the governance of the organization and helping to attract resources for the CCA.”

The CCA board is made up of business and community leaders with expertise and skills in many fields. Individuals with knowledge and experience in fundraising, development, finance and accounting, law, and business management, and other areas are encouraged to contact us.

Prior involvement and support of the CCA and nonprofit board experience is helpful, but not required.

Applications for the board position can be found here. Or for more information, contact Leslie Surel, board president, at [email protected]
