Chelsea Chamber of Commerce executive director resigns

The Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce recently announced that Monica Monsma is resigning from her position effective March 2020.

In announcing her decision, Monsma said “I’m thankful for being a part of such a dynamic and vibrant group. The Chelsea business community is comprised of the most creative and hardworking individuals I’ve ever met. While I love this job, change is good for the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce. I believe the next executive director will bring a new perspective and continue to work with the membership to strengthen commerce in Chelsea.”

She has been instrumental in building on the chamber’s past successes while ushering in new ideas and events.

During her time with the chamber, Monsma achieved several significant accomplishments, which include Manufacturing Day, Backyard Beer Garden and increasing the membership of the Chamber of Commerce.

The Board of Directors is thankful for her dedicated service and leadership; and we wish her the best of luck as she leaves to pursue new opportunities.

The Board of Directors is accepting resumes until Jan. 17 in its search for a new executive director.
