Following the public comments, the City Council moved onto council business and discussed setting a second community listening session.

It was suggested at the second session be held in September because at that time it’s expected that the internal investigation and criminal investigation should be complete. A date of no later than Wednesday, Sept. 9 was suggested.

Ultimately, the council voted to hold a second listening session on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 6 p.m. and Council Member Charles Wiseley voted no, saying he’d rather wait to hold the meeting until the police investigation had been completed.

Details with the Zoom link and the agenda will be posted on the city’s website prior to the meeting.
