Chelsea City Council will discuss lots of numbers Tuesday night

The Chelsea City Council will deal with lots of numbers on Tuesday, April 9 as council members will begin at 6 p.m. with a work session looking at draft utility rate scenarios.

This will be followed by a presentation on the city’s Other Post Employment Benefits (OPEB) actuarial liabilities, which kicks off the start of the regular meeting.

Plus, there’s a staff report planned for the end of the meeting that will give an update on the city’s Michigan Employees’ Retirement System (MERS) pension fund status.

In between, a representative from Washtenaw Area Value Express (WAVE) will give a presentation on the area’s bus service.

In action items, the City Council is expected to set a public hearing date for its 2013 budget and millage as well as its utility rates.

If the public hearing dates are approved as requested, both will take place on May 14.

The city’s new fiscal year begins on July 1, 2013 and runs through June 31, 2014.
