Chelsea Community Fair events for Aug. 21

Goat judging begins at 9 a.m.

Today at the 82nd Chelsea Community Fair, the goats take center ring in the Multi-Purpose building beginning at 9 a.m. with showmanship.

You can grab breakfast at the fair kitchen beginning at 7 until 10:30 a.m., lunch beginning at 11 a.m. and dinner specials start at 4 p.m. Oh, and don’t miss out on those yummy desserts.

At noon, those adorable dairy feeder calves and their equally wonderful young owners will strut their stuff in both showmanship and market classes also in the Multi-Purpose building.

Once the feeder calf judging is complete, a half hour later, the much larger steer and their older showmen will show, again, beginning with showmanship.

The rides open at 3 p.m. on Aug. 21 and you can also visit Colors the Clown from 3-7 p.m., additional animals can be found in Nature’s Creation of Life barn.

At 1 p.m. the merchant barn will be open while at 5 p.m., bingo gets under way.

If you love sheep, the lamb show begins in the Multi-Purpose Building beginning at 6 p.m. with showmanship, followed by the market classes.

At 7:30 p.m., the Main Arena comes alive with the Chelsea Community Fair demolition derby as well as the truck and compact heats.
