The draft horses take over the Main Arena today beginning at 11 a.m. with a draft horse pull, heavyweight teams. Be sure to spend a few minutes viewing these gorgeous horses that enjoy what they are bred to do.

But don’t forget, there’s breakfast available in the fair kitchen starting at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., lunch beginning at 11 a.m. and dinner beginning at 4 p.m.

At 1 p.m., the merchant barn opens and of course, the red barn where Nature’s Creation of Life will be filled with all kinds of farm animals.

Gates open at 10 a.m. and it’s senior day when those 65 or older get in free before 5 p.m. The service center is a great place to get lunch or an early dinner or you can also find the Kiwanis concession trailer open for a goody or three.

Be sure to wander through the green barn and see all the exhibits before the rides open at 3 p.m.

Colors the Clown performs from 3-7 p.m. and you can walk through all the livestock barns to see the sheep, pigs, goats, calves and steers.

The annual livestock auction begins at 7 p.m. so please support the youth’s efforts.

  1. Horse pulls have been my favorite part of a fair since I was a kid and my beloved Grandpa used to take me to them at Jackson County Fair. Heavens, 70 years ago!!
