A healthy eating ‘double header’ is planned on Thursday, Oct. 18 in the McKune room of the Chelsea District Library.
Chelsea Community Kitchen‘s (CCK) annual meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. and it’s a chance for people in the community to find out more about the group as members review its accomplishments and challenges, according to information from CCK.
The non-profit was incorporated in 2009 and received its 501(c)(3) status last November,” the information states.
Then at 7 p.m., there will be an interactive discussion of “nutritionism” with CCK Board Member Peter di Lorenzi called “A Tale of Two Dishes.”
“Nutritionism is one of the issues raised in Michael Pollan’s In Defense of Food, this year’s community read,” according to the event information. “Pollan is one of Peter’s heroes, and he is planning to use two dishes to illustrate what Pollan means by nutritionism.”
This part of the evening is sponsored by the Chelsea District Library Community Read in partnership with Chelsea Community Kitchen.
Registration is encouraged, so reserve a seat by phone at 475-8732, ext. 219 or online at library’s calendar page by clicking on the title of the event.
