Chelsea DDA meets Thursday with light agenda

The Chelsea Downtown Development Authority (DDA) has its monthly meeting on Thursday, June 19 at 7:30 a.m. in the council chambers inside the new police station and members will be updated on upcoming projects planned for this summer.

On the agenda is a update on the status of the $450,00 bond, the timeline for the Longworth Alley Project and the decorative fence project planned to block pedestrians from illegally crossing the railroad tracks near The Depot.

The DDA plans improvements to the alley off Jackson Street and to the Longworth property, which include demolition of the Livery building, placing area utilities underground, cleaning up and enhancing the alley beside the First Congregational Church. The project, which runs from East Middle Street to Jackson Street, will also include additional parking spaces.

Also expected at the meeting are reports from Pat Cleary on the Chelsea First initiative and marketing campaign and from Bob Pierce from the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce.
