Chelsea Education Foundation awards almost $40,000 in teacher grants

During the past 30 years, Chelsea Education Foundation (CEF) has funded more than 500 grants to Chelsea School District (CSD) teachers and staff, helping to finance projects beyond the resources of the district.

This month, CEF announced a total of $39,989 will be awarded to the 2019-2020 Grant recipients.

“I am very pleased that, thanks to the incredible generosity of its sponsors and donors, CEF is awarding $39,989 in grant funds for the 2019-20 school year,” said Lori Coryell, grants committee chair in a press release.

“Members of the CEF Grants Committee marveled at the innovative, thoughtful, and inspired applications we reviewed from teachers and staff throughout the Chelsea School District, and we are delighted that CEF will make many of their visions a reality,” she said.

“CEF is delighted to assist the Chelsea School District in creating opportunities that will positively impact our children in the coming year and for years to come,” Coryell said.

Chelsea Education Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3.  Organized in 1990, the mission of CEF is to enhance the Chelsea School District’s educational experiences by financing projects beyond the resources of the district and by providing scholarships to district graduates.

Since its inception over 44,000 students have received benefits from the foundation, 500 grant programs have been funded ranging from art installations to robotics programs, and over 800 scholarships have been awarded to students with outstanding achievement.
