(Publisher’s note: The team won gold a local competition at the Detroit Skating Club in July. I apologize for the mistake and it has been corrected in the story.)
Chelsea Figure Skating Club’s brother and sister pair team of Maria Mokhova and Ivan Mokhov have their eyes their third national medal this month.
The pair will be competing against the top ten Junior Pairs Teams in America at the 2019 US Figure Skating National Championships on Jan. 23-24 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
In 2017, the team won their first national title as an Intermediate Pair Team, and last year finished third at the Novice level. They head into nationals as one of the favorites for gold after winning a local competition at the Detroit Skating Club in July.
Coached by their parents, Oksana Yakusheva and Andrey Mokhov, the team brings a tight family bond to their skating.
We wish the team the best of luck at Nationals this year, and know they will make the Chelsea Figure Skating Club very proud.

Best of luck for this wonderful skating couple. We had the pleasure of seeing them skate recently. They were wonderful.
