The Chelsea Freshman football team lost its second game in a row, this time to Lincoln, 36-14.

With the game tied at 14 with a minute left in the first half, Lincoln score on a 60-yard pass play to take the lead 22-14. Chelsea had a couple drives stall deep in the Lincoln end then Lincoln scored on a 1-play, 80-yard drive on a toss sweep.

The game finished with Lincoln returning an interception for a touchdown as time expired.

James Mida and Braden Steele played very strong games for Chelsea.

“We threw 4 interceptions and kept making negative plays when we got into scoring range,”said coach Dennis Strzyzewski. “Lincoln has so much speed, we knew we would have to play perfectly on defense to contain them, but as soon as they found a crease, they went the distance on us.”

He said, “I still feel that this group is making great strides as a team, but we need to take that next step to compete with really athletic teams.”
