Chelsea’s Immanuel Bible Church will have a new pastor just in time for Easter.

Pastor Jeff Heim will preach for the first time at his new church on Sunday, April 4 at the 10:30 a.m. Easter service.

Immanuel Bible Church meets at 275 N. Freer Road at Pierce Elementary School.

Heim and his family, which includes his wife Kim and four children, are originally from Lincoln Park, Michigan. Jeff Heim’s parents met when they lived in Manchester.

Heim stated in his cover letter to the church, “When I was growing up, it was family lore to hear of my dad’s young adulthood in Manchester. It was where he first moved when fresh out of the Navy and where he was living when he met my mom. Living in Manchester was one of the best seasons of his life. Teaching the Bible to hungry souls in that neck of the woods would be a convergence of many works of God’s grace in our lives.”

Prior to his work as a pastor, Heim attended the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit where he studied sculpture. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Thought from William Tyndale College and his Master of Divinity from Mid-American Baptist Theological Seminary.

Heim served as lead pastor at Friendship Baptist Church in Lincoln Park for nearly 20 years, and then left to pursue a PhD in Biblical Theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina, something he continues to pursue remotely.
