Last Monday, the Chelsea Kiwanis Club heard from Rylee Clairday, Miss Washtenaw County 2024. She is also a member of the Kiwanis family, Past President of Eastern Michigan University’s Circle K Club, and currently serves as Michigan District Circle K Treasurer.
She graduated Summa Cum Laude this spring from EMU, and will attend University of Michigan for her master’s degree in social work.
Growing up in Onsted, Michigan, Clairday was into athletics and 4-H in school with no inclination to enter a pageant. The scholarship opportunity convinced her to enter. After her success in the pageant, she received enough scholarship money to pay for her education, leaving her debt free.
During her year as Miss Washtenaw County, Clairday will focus her service on disability acceptance, Special Olympics, and therapeutic horseback riding for disabled children.
Her next pageant is Miss Michigan this June and if she wins, the Miss America pageant.
