The Chelsea Free Methodist Church and the Kiwanis Club of Chelsea are joining forces to serve up a double dose of fun for kids in Chelsea and the surrounding area on Halloween.

Families are invited to attend Chelsea Free Methodist Church’s Community Block Party in the Cole Funeral Chapel’s parking lot from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The parking lot is on the corner of East Middle and East streets.

Members of the church will entertain elementary-age kids with free carnival-style games and candy prizes. In addition, parents won’t be left out of the fun – there will be complimentary cider and donuts provided.

At 7:30 p.m., the Kiwanis Club will hold its annual costume judging contest in the Cole Parking lot location where prizes will be awarded for best dressed and most original costumes in the following age categories:

  • 3 years old and under
  • 4-5 years old
  • 6-7 years old
  • 8-9 years old
  • 10-11 years old
  • 12 years and older

“The Kiwanis Club of Chelsea and Chelsea Free Methodist Church look forward to offering a safe, fun-filled community event during the City of Chelsea’s Trick or Treating hours,” the press release said.
