(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)
Last Monday, Chelsea Kiwanis heard from Chelsea Senior Center Director Jennifer Smith and Occupational Therapist Katie Garvey. Katie spoke about the Ease the Day Program. (See more information at the end of the story.)
Since the spring of 2023, family caregivers and their older adult loved ones can benefit in four ways:
- The onsite day program at the Senior Center on Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s, and Thursday’s
- In-home companion care
- In-home skilled support care
- Resource navigation and advocacy to help connect to other community resources
- An intake assessment is provided to make sure each person’s needs can be met.

Chelsea Senior Center also provides a Daily Senior Lunch there, and the Meals on Wheels service.
Another feature of the center is the Trinh Pifer Intergenerational Garden. Seniors work with children to grow and learn.
The center also operates a travel service to visit interesting places without the stress of making arrangements.
We were happy to present our annual donation to Chelsea Senior Center to support their work.
