(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

Last week, Chelsea Kiwanis gathered at Uptown Coney Island for our first in-person meeting since October.

Our project was stuffing baskets of treats for some deserving folks in the community. We salute teachers and staff at the public schools in Chelsea, who created and implemented virtual learning for a year. We honor our community’s firefighters and police who kept us safe.

We are excited to be able to once again enjoy our Chelsea Community Fair this August. You will find our concession trailer in its regular spot next to the Main Arena. You can support us and the local groups we assist by enjoying hot dogs, soft pretzels, popcorn, nachos, and our signature knackwurst (with or without sauerkraut).

The knackwurst and hot dogs are available, if you can’t wait, on the Chelsea Farmers Market website: www.openfoodnetwork.net. Sixty frozen hot dogs and 20 frozen knackwurst sell for $30.

Memorial Day, we will not meet. We will commemorate all men and women who have died while serving in the military for the United States of America.
