Chelsea Kiwanis votes not to have its concession trailer at fair or high school football

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea Kiwanis Club has been meeting via Zoom, and at a recent board of director’s meeting, it was decided that they will not operate its food concession trailer at the Chelsea Community Fair, (if it happens), or at the high school home football games, (if they happen).

We believe the health and safety of our community,  especially the children, is more important to our Kiwanis Club than risking spreading the virus.

This decision could be reconsidered if and when the state and county guidelines will permit a safe way for large groups to gather, the club has reviewed and revised its trailer operations, and are in agreement it’s safe to proceed.

As always, the club stands ready to serve while following pandemic guidelines. The club has both human and financial resources to benefit the community, especially its children.

Please contact President John Knox, or Treasurer Bob Milbrodt with opportunities for the club’s support.

Normally, Chelsea Kiwanis meets each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m.
