Chelsea Lanes supporting non-profits with Sunday family fun

(Chelsea Update would like to thank William Shaw for the information in this story.)

Each Sunday, the Greenleaf Family, owners of Mark IV Sports Lounge inside the Chelsea Lanes Bowling Center, will support Chelsea-area non-profits with an afternoon of family fun.

Inside the newly refurbished lounge, the family plans an open house during the Detroit Lions’ 1 p.m. football games, and has invited a Chelsea based non-profit to participate. Each non-profit will share in a portion of the food revenue.

There will be a buffet lunch served at halftime and the price reflects families. In addition, the center is offering a bowling special during the game for people who are not diehard Lions fans.

One of things that make this event unique is that after the buffet is taken down at the end of the third quarter most of the kids will return to bowling. During this time, the lights will be turned down on the lanes, which creates a glow on the pins.

The kids love watching the pins drop contributing to a fun family experience.
