Chelsea Planning Commission Approves Starbucks/Burger King Final Site Plan

The Starbucks/Burger King final site plan is a go.

The Chelsea Planning Commission met in person at City Council Chambers July 20 and unanimously approved a motion for the final site plan submitted by Brightway Development LLC contingent on addressing all items included in all staff reports provided.

The final site plan is to develop a proposed 2,200 square foot retail building, an 8,290 square foot retail building including a Starbucks drive-thru restaurant, and a 3,070 square foot building including a Burger King drive-thru restaurant located at 1620 S. Main St.

In other action, the planning commission approved a preliminary site plan for the Chelsea Milling Company to construct a 119,689 square foot warehouse building and associated parking submitted by Chelsea Milling contingent on addressing all items included in all staff reports provided, including the approval of a variance request to grant a reduction in required parking as well as an agreement for tree mitigation to the Chelsea area tree grant program.

The planning commission also agreed to keep the same slate of board officer positions: Claire Robinson, chair; Vincent Elie, vice chair; Sarah Haselshwardt, secretary.
