Community service was the foundation on which Chelsea State Bank was founded 125 years ago. and the bank celebrated the community on Saturday, Sept. 24, with an Octoberfest Anniversary Party at its main office in Chelsea.

Free entry, free food, and free entertainment made for a big crowd in the bank’s parking lot.

A huge tent was set up with tables for diners and a stage for the Jammin’ Germans Band along with a dance floor for some traditional German dancers.

All beer sales at the event went to support the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce and the Chelsea Rotary Club.

Chelsea State Bank President and CEO Joanne Rau stated, “Community banking is ever changing, but one aspect remains constant – we are the backbone of our local economies. We create economic growth opportunities, help families achieve their dreams and reinvest local dollars.”

Chelsea State Bank recently announced three donations to the Chelsea community in honor of its 125th anniversary: a $125,000 pledge to the Main Street Park Alliance, a $50,000 cash donation to the Chelsea Sports Complex, and a $25,000 pledge to the Mobile Chelsea District Library.
