Chelsea varsity soccer plays well against tough opponent

Although the Chelsea varsity soccer team lost to Ann Arbor Skyline, 1-0, the team took home a moral victory.

The score was 0 – 0 at the end of the half, and Skyline had already trounced Pioneer and downed the No. 1 team in the state.

“For us to hold them to just one goal was an accomplishment,” Rosie Lemons said.

The entire defense played an excellent game with some outstanding saves by goalie Matt Caffrey and some brilliant moves by defensemen Chad Vredeveld and Brian Wellman.

In the past week and a half, Chelsea played all three of Ann Arbor’s D1 teams and only allowed a total of two goals.
