The City of Chelsea has a Water Use Restriction and Conservation Ordinance which addresses irrigation restrictions and conservation.
The ordinance requires that sprinklers not be activated during the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Properties with an odd-numbered address should only irrigate on odd-numbered dates within a month. Properties with even-numbered addresses should only irrigate on even-numbered dates within a month.
Violation of this ordinance is subject to a fine of $100 for the first violation, $200 for the second violation, $300 for the third violation and $500 for each additional violation.
